The Plans

A decent sized supermarket will allow local people and visitors to the town to do a full food shop in Hadleigh, and save money by offering the popular goods and products available at Tesco every day in a specially designed store.

We have worked hard to consult with the community and develop plans that consider the views of local people and previous decisions on our proposals – the new plans were submitted to Babergh Council in early 2008.

A completely unique store for Hadleigh has been designed by award winning Lyons, Sleeman & Hoare architects. This respects the town’s character - creating a much more attractive building than the derelict warehouses you can see from the river, and includes the latest environmentally friendly technology.

CABE, the Commision of Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), the Government’s advisor on design of buildings has given its full support to our plans.
